Okay, I think taking a year break from blogging was a bit extreme. I mean, newborn babies do tend to hi-jack all intentions you have for a while, but a year?
Nevertheless, I'm back! Obviously I'm a little rusty (proof: I just used the word 'nevertheless' in a blog!) but it'll come.
I've always enjoyed putting my thoughts down in words - whether emailing long-lost friends, journalling, poetry or marketing. Blogging is a strange genre because it kind of encompasses all of the above (except the marketing. I probably won't try to sell you anything on here.)
More for my own interest than anything else (translation: you don't have to follow through with me here), I'm going to see if I can remember back through the past year and blog the highlights. I'll have to go through my photos to remember – they're sort of a journal in themselves.
I guess it began with my birthday last April. We finally got a sitter, got a little dressed up, and Kent took me to the Keg...
when we heard a screaming baby! I was flabbergasted. I have since told people about my disbelief and they merely stare at me and say: “Some day that parent will be you.”
That seems to shut me up. Slightly.
Back to dinner. We started with appetizers which people in B.C. love to call “appy’s.”
(Kent loves the bread...
…I love the Bellini's)
Is there anything better than crab and hot, melty garlic butter!
I guess Billy Miner pie is a close competitor.
The evening was going well until Kent said: "So, Kara... now that you've become a mother and had a baby, what else do you hope to accomplish in the next 5 years?" to which I replied: "You mean when I'm approaching FORTY????"
Not the thing you want to say to your already-exhausted-newly-unemployed-baby-mamma. Subject was dropped very quickly. Kinda makes me think though...
